Merry Christmas and Christmas Gift

It's 6 in the morning on Christmas Eve. I woke up from my niece's kick on my ribs... lol~ Now I can't sleep *sigh*. :/ I thought I'll just update my blog since I'm wide awake... lol~ O_O

I want to wish every one of you guys a very Merry Christmas! I hope you guys are surrounded by love ones and share the goodness of this day! :)

I received a package from Blair some time ago. She was kind enough to send me a Christmas gift this year! :)
She sent me all these stuff including a cute letter (the note was too short... hehe~ :P) and candies... wheee~ They were delicious! :)
In the package, I received some masks. She told me the Deep Ocean Water is from My Scheming Beauty, one of her favorite brand of masks. I can't wait to try this!... wheee~
Some of the samples I received; Beauty Credit and Skin Food.
A peach flavored lip balm. I can't wait to try and smell this. To be honest, it has to wait... hehe~ I tend to open one lip balm at a time for some odd reason. I can't wait to test/swatch products out as soon as I get them home but when it comes to lip balms, I'm really good. :/ It's so strange!... lol~ :X At the moment, I'm using Etude House lip balm I received (thank you friend!). :D
I love how dramatic these lashes are. It's gorgeous! I can't wait to see how it looks on me... wheee~
She gave me Dr. Jart+ Blemish Base.
She told me the main gifts were Canmake lipstick in Caramel Pink (#23). By the way, I really love this color lipstick. It looks great on me! She chose a great color... hehe~ :)
And the other is Fasio Glossy Layered Eyes in #001. The left side is the cream shadow and the rest are eyeshadows. She knows how much I love neutral colors... hehe~ ;)

I know you guys didn't ask for swatches, but I did it already... hehe~
The top color on top is the lipstick, Canmake in Caramel Pink, and the eyeshadow palette on the bottom (from left to right from the palette), Fasio in #001. For some odd reason, the sun washed the colors out. :/

I also did two looks with the eyeshadow palette.

Look #1:
I used the last three colors from the left on my eyes.

Look #2:
I also used the last three colors from the left... hehe~

Thank you Blair!!! :)

Tobey wishes a Merry Christmas too! This picture was taken last year but it's too cute not to put it up again... hehe~
*Head to the left* *Head to the right* Merry Christmas? What is that? I just want food!... lol~

Merry Dog-mas!!!

Cucumber Kim-chi (oi kim-chi)

Sorry I haven't updated in awhile! I had a hectic 3 weeks both good and bad (family visit, no internet, computer problems, dad having a minor surgery, etc). I want to believe things will look up... wheee~ One of the things I did last week is make oi kim-chi.

If you need some guidance with the ingredients, you can check my Korean Cooking 101. ;)

Ingredients:
cucumbers
sea salt-coarse
water
2-3 bunch of leeks
6 green onions
1/4 bell red pepper
chopped garlic
1/4 onion
1/2 c. red pepper powder
1/4 c. fish sauce
1 tbsp. sugar

Recent Hauls (Benefit, MAC, and Shu Uemura)

I bought quite a few things last week *sigh*. :X I just couldn't refuse with these sales/special deals... hehe~

The first thing I bought was from Sephora. I didn't know they have a monthly special called Surprise Steals Sweet Steals. Basically, every month they sell different products for $10. It's a surprise because you don't know what it will be each month... hehe~ It's a steal because it's only $10 when in reality it's more than $10. What a deal!!!... wheee~ The only bad problem about this is that it's only in-store. You cannot find this online unfortunately. :( You have to check your Sephora store every month to see what they have to offer. It's always located at the cashier so you don't need to go far... hehe~ ;)
I finally got something from my wishlist (I took it off my wishlist since it's fulfilled)... wheee~ I've been wanting to try the Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner. What a great deal getting two for the price of $10! Each one cost $19 normally and getting them for this price. I just have to say run to your nearest Sephora... hehe~ ;)
The first color is in Recess. My first initial reaction is it looks like MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre. I just swatched the colors on my hand and they are different. Recess is a more shimmery cream color, whereas, Soft Ochre is matte yellowish color.
The second color is in Honey Bunny. I also has an initial reaction comparing it to MAC Paint Pot in Painterly. I think Honey Bunny is more on the light pink, whereas, Painterly is more neutral.

The second haul was from the CCO. I bought two things I've been wanting for a long, long, long time!!!
I am really into MAC Paint Pots, and have been wanting in Soft Ochre for months. When I saw this at the CCO, I freaked out. I think the lady next to me thought I was crazy because she gave me a dirty look... lol~ :X
I was about to cash in my products when I saw this laying around at the cashier. I freaked out and asked the sales lady if it's Petticoat. She nodded and without thinking, I bought it... wheee~

My last haul is from the Lancome store (don't remember the exact name) at the outlet... lol~ They sell Lancome products, perfumes, and Shu Uemura.
While looking around, I saw the Shu Uemura eyelash curler. Oh mi gosh I couldn't refuse!!! I've been wanting to try this curler for a year now. I had to get it even though it's the last year collection. The best part it only cost me $12!!!... wheee~ What a great deal! :)

EDIT: It's called Sweet Steals not Surprise Steals. I'm such a fool mixing them up *embarrassed*... lol~ :X

Annabelle Look, Kogi, Get Shaved Ice, and Freebie

When I received my surprise package from Canada (click here to read the post), I was extremely excited to see two Annabelle eyeshadows! I've been curious about these eyeshadows for some time. I played around with these the next day... lol~
The first one I received is in So Foxy. It's a matte brown color.
The second color is Bronzed Idol. It's such a gorgeous bronze! I don't know how she knew I've been into bronze eyeshadow lately... hehe~ She's a great mind reader!
I swatched the eyeshadow on my hand. The one on the left is Bronzed Idol and the right one is So Foxy.
I did a look with these two eyeshadows. I used the Bronzed Idol on the lid and So Foxy on the crease. I think they came out great. I like it a lot!... wheee~ :)

Thank you again friend!!! :)

I usually don't post what I eat, but I thought I would with these two places. I think they're just a fun place to blog about... hehe~
The first place I tried is the Kogi truck. They drive all around Southern California and you get to try unique Korean BBQ style dishes. They have a website where you can see where they will be for the week, as well as, their menu (click here for the website).
I ordered the Pacman Special and 1 Short Ribs Taco. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of the Short Rib Taco... lol~ :X I was too busy eating. I definitely recommend the Short Rib Taco. That was delicious!!! :)

The second place is Get Shaved Ice truck. It's a highly recommended place and #1 restaurant in Los Angeles area on the Yelp website. ;) They too also have a website that will tell you where they will be for the week, as well as, their menu (click here for the website).

By the way, the little boy gave a look of shock when I took this picture... lol~ It's so funny!
I ordered Monkey Brains. On the bottom they have vanilla ice cream with ice on top of it. They flavored the ice with strawberry, banana, and condensed milk. It's so delicious!!!... wheee~

I'm going to end this post with a freebie from Aveda.
It's a Rosemary Mint Hand and Body Wash. You just need to print out a copy (click here for the print out) and take it with you to the Aveda store. It expires 1/31/2010. ;)

Hard Candy Kal-eye-descope Baked Eyeshadow Duo in High Maintenance

Disclaimer: The products mentioned in this post are bought with my money except Sally Hansen, Annabelle, Gosh, Asian Products, and food. I am not affiliated with the companies nor getting paid to advertise the products. This post is written with my honest opinion.

This past weekend I visited my brother. One of the things I like doing is visiting his local Walmart store since I don't have any close to me. While visiting Walmart, I noticed they started carrying Hard Candy products. I decided to try two products from their line. The first one is a baked duo.

Happy 10th Birthday Tobey!!!

On Saturday, it was Tobey's 10th birthday. I can't believe he's been with us this long *sigh*. Time sure flies when you're with love ones... hehe~
I don't know if it's a day he enjoys it or not... lol~ My guess is the first since I abuse him with tons of cute things. For example, the picture above with the birthday hat... lol~ :X He looks adorable and calm, but trust me it took awhile to take this picture.

After I took pictures of him with his birthday hat, I gave him his birthday gift. I actually video taped it... lol~ :X

If you hear a female voice that says "happy birthday Tobey" and "it's a spider," that's me... lol~ I usually try not to talk in the video, because I sound like Donald Duck with my squeaky voice. :'( Now you know how I sound like... eek~ :X

Couple of days before Tobey's birthday, I went to Petco to get his birthday gift. While I was looking around, I noticed in the clearance section they had Halloween costumes on sale. Unfortunately, they had none in his size (XL) and the largest one I found was in large (only one left). I just couldn't refuse and thought I can work with what I have... lol~
He's a lady bug... lol~ He wasn't happy with me that day!!! :X

I was asked long time ago by Emilita if I can take a picture of one of the Zoya nail polishes on my hand (click here to read my post on the Zoya nail polishes I got). I told her I will when fall comes around, because I doubt I'll wear the color during the summer. Of course, I was correct and I finally wore this nail polish this week... hehe~ It's Loredana from Zoya.

Matte:
I don't have any base coat and top coat on. The only color on my finger is Loredana by Zoya. If you wear matte nail polishes, it's suggested you don't use base and top coat. ;)

Glossy:
I guess I'm not use to matte nail polishes, because I added a top coat afterwards... hehe~

I'm going to end with my hair accessories I bought from Forever 21. I honestly thought I was done with my addiction with ribbon/bow headbands, but it seems like I'm not... lol~ :X
When I saw this, I fell in love. I really need help stop buying hair accessories!!! :X
I debated if I should get this bow hair pins, and decided I like it way too much not too... lol~ :X

Steak Bi-Bim Bahp

Happy Halloween or when this get posted, it will be belated Happy Halloween!!!... hehe~ :)
I love this picture it's so cute!!! :) I hope you had a great one and got a lot of candies... wheee~

When this drama (Brilliant Legacy) came out this year, the biggest thing was the steak bi-bim bahp.
They don't officially have a recipe unless I missed it... hehe~ This is my version of steak bi-bim bahp. I hope you like it as much as my dad... wheee~ :)

If you need some guidance with the ingredients, you can check my Korean Cooking 101. ;)

Ingredients:
lettuce
cucumber
2 eggs
salt
water
steak/beef
black pepper
garlic powder
1/2 onion
1-2 carrots
red pepper paste
sesame seed
vinegar
sugar

Step 1:
The first thing I do is cut my lettuce into small pieces. You can use any type of lettuce; romaine, salad, etc. I just use any lettuce I can find at home... lol~ Then I cut cucumber and mix it with the lettuce. The cucumber gives the crunchiness in the bi-bim bahp. ;)
In a small bowl, I crack two eggs. I add a pinch of salt and mix. I add a little bit of water to dilute the thickening of the eggs. You can skip the water if you like. ;) After I fry both sides, I let it sit. Then I cut it into julienne pieces.
Then I cut the beef/steak or any type of meat. I used steak in this case and seasoned it with black pepper and garlic powder. I cook the steak first! While I'm cooking the steak, I cut my onion and carrot. When the steak gets close to cooking, I add the onion and carrot. I cook it until the steak is done.
In a small bowl, I add red pepper paste; two spoonful for two people is fine. I add sesame seeds and mix the red pepper paste with vinegar. I keep adding vinegar until the thickening of the paste is soften. Once it's close to softening, I add a 1/2 to 1 spoonful of sugar and dilute with water. You don't need that much water maybe a spoonful is fine. Then I put it in the refrigerator. For some reason, the coolness of the refrigerator softens the paste.

Step 2:
Grab a big bowl and add rice on the bottom. Then I top it with lettuce with cucumber. On top of the lettuce, I put the steak with the onion and carrot. Then I finish it up with egg.
All you have to do is mix the rice dish with red pepper paste. Now you can eat... wheee~ ;)

Two months of No Buy has ended (click here to read the post). The reason why I didn't want to buy beauty related products is because I wanted to save money. For some odd reason instead of saving money, I think money went out more than usual *sigh*. Some of the things I had to spend money...
1. I had a flat tire and noticed all the other three were in bad shape. I had to change all 4 tires to new ones.
2. Tobey's vet bill. You guys know about Tobey's bite accident (click here to read the post). Thankfully the owner of the dog that attacked my dog paid her part, but I still had to pay for his shots and x-ray. X-ray cost more than $200!!!... eek~ :X
3. And other stuff... hehe~

I followed our deal, but having an exception actually made it easier to follow the No Buy deal. :X I had an exception of 1 or 2 visits to the CCO's. Well, I went twice... lol~ I posted one of the CCO visit (click here to read the post). Well, I went earlier in September during Labor Day with my dad. I only bought one thing.
I bought MAC What a Dame! highlighter powder. I needed a good highlighter powder since the one I have from Shiseido only worked on my tan skin. I needed one for the winter weather when I get lighter.
Here's how the powder looks when it's open. On the top, they added the shimmery stuff. Once you go below that, it's matte which is what I was looking for.

I'm going to end this post with swatches to the two lipglosses I got from the CCO's. Blovet Beauty requested swatches (click here to see the pictures of the lipglosses). I should have asked on my hand or on my lips... lol~ :X
I swatched it on my hand. The left one is MAC DazzleGlass in Sugarrimmed. For some reason, you can't really see the sparkle in this picture *sigh*. The one on the right is MAC CremeSheen in Melt In Your Mouth. By the way, I'm a big CremeSheen fan. I love them a lot!!! :)

Speaking of Blovet Beauty, she's having a 100th follower giveaway.
You should check her out. She's really adorable and sweet from what I can tell... hehe~ :)

I bought this palette long time ago and I'm finally posting it. By looking at the pictures, the date was taken back in July. Wow!

Visee Blackish Forming Eyes in B-1 and B-3

Couple of weeks ago, October 10th to be exact, I visited my makeup buddy. I haven't seen her for a long time so it was nice seeing her, at the same time, to pick up my Japanese haul. Her brother went to Japan during the summer and I asked her if he can picked me up some. He was nice enough to do that. Thanks bro!!! :)
