Earth Day - Aveeno

This coming Friday is Earth Day, April 22nd. Is anyone doing anything special to protect/save the earth? To be honest, I didn't think much of it until I got something in the mail today.
I got a wonderful package from Aveeno since I'm an ambassador for Aveeno. They sent me a recyclable bag and seeds to plant. Please check out their Facebook page. They have a lot of great information. Before I go into myself and how I will change a bit to save/protect the earth, I would like to talk a little more about Aveeno.

Aveeno launch Aveeno Be An Active Natural program in Times Square, NY on April 7-8.
They planted hundreds of trees to "encourages people to make small changes in their daily lives that can add up to a positive impact on the environment." You can check out more information about this event, as well as, pictures. You can also "Like" their Facebook page and take the pledge, 50 recyclebank points, Be An Active Natural on the side profile.

One of the newsletter they sent with the package had interesting facts. It list interested facts about different types of trees. I will mention some here.

Oak Tree: I'm an Oak and I can take in 260 pounds of CO2 a year. I turn it into clean oxygen for you to breathe. By car-pooling to work one day a week, you can save me from having to do so much work, and reduce your CO2 emissions by 8 percent. Thanks to Aveeno, MillionTreesNYC will find a home for me in one of the New York City's five boroughs to help purify the air near a local school, day-care or library this spring.

Did you know that the temperatures of urban areas are 2-10 degrees warmer than surrounding areas due to the prevalence of concrete, asphalt, tall buildings and the absence of trees? The goal of many urban tree plantings is to reduce the urban heat island effect. Trees in New York City remove more than 1800 metric tons of air pollution annually. Thanks to Aveen and MillionTreesNYC, I will be working to help cool the air near a local school, day-care or library this spring.

Blue Spruce: I'm a Blue Spruce, more commonly known as a Christmas tree. I can grow to be 115 feet and live to be 800 years old when left in my roots. Give your Christmas tree a second life by purchasing a live tree that can be replanted after the ornaments come down. Plant it in the backyard, or, if you don't have the room donate it to a local nursery.

Southernwood (silvermound): I am Silvermound, a variety of a Southernwood tree. The Aveeno Active Naturals ingredients Southernwood, is a natural combination of saccharides and polyphenols, which help attract and bind water to the skin while also providing antioxidant activity. You can find it in the new Aveeno Smart Essentials facial products designed to transform the look with Ylang-Ylang and Chamomile to calm and relax your senses while leaving your skin feeling soft, smooth and refreshed.

There's more but doesn't it make you think how important trees are!?!? I never thought about donating/replanting Christmas trees after the season.
I will definitely plant these seeds. I am not too sure what kind of seeds these are. I guess time will tell. ;) It might not be a big deal, but it's a start of helping the planet.

How are you guys doing to help the planet?

Eye's Chic False Eyelashes in 461, 805, 853

Disclaimer: The products mentioned in this post are given to me to review. I am not affiliated with the company nor getting paid to advertise the products. This post is written with my honest opinion.

I was fortunate enough to receive another false eyelashes from KKCenterHK. I was not too sure which one to get. The PR recommended me to try Eye's Chic and she would include three different version. It sounded great to me! :)

Before I review the lashes I received, please check out my review on Princess Lee. If you want natural looking eyelashes, I definitely recommend Princess Lee. It's one of the most comfortable lashes I have ever tried!

March Favorite and Finished Products, and Target Bag

I'm kind of late on this, but it's always better later than never! :)

March Favorite Products
Integrate Palette in BR730: I feel very fortunate to receive this from Luna. I've been using this palette a lot this month and think it looks great on a daily basis. It's not too heavy for the work environment, as well as, running the errands during the day. I did a short review/mention of this palette. Please check it out so you can see the swatches and one look I came out with this palette.

Lacvert Sunblock: My sister-in-law bought me this last summer in Korea. I was debating to review this or not, but realized it's not a well known brand. Even if I review this, I doubt people will know where to get this. If you disagree and want me to review, please tell me. Now for the review, I'm just in love with this! Most sunscreens give me the white sheen that makes me look like a ghost. This sunscreen doesn't. It soaks into your skin like butter. I feel like I'm putting moisturizer on my skin. I also noticed some sunscreens have some type of scent. This sunscreen doesn't. The best part is that I'm not allergic to this sunscreen! I'm allergic to certain chemicals, oxybenzone and avobenzone, American sunscreens have. It's actually a good thing I'm allergic to those chemicals since they're cancer causing. It's a minimum but still not a good idea to put it on your screen or at least I think so. The scary part is a lot of baby/children sunscreens carry these chemicals. Why I ask!?!? I don't know. :/ It also doesn't have titanium oxide. Who wants to put titanium on your skin eh? I know I don't. :P

China Glaze in Crushed Candy: I was fortunate to receive this from Spankedelic. It's one of those crackle/shatter nail polishes. I was really excited to try colored one. I compared this to my other crackle/shatter nail polishes. Please check that out. :) I think this teal/light blue color looks best on top of blue color. That's just my opinion. ;)

Maybelline EyeStudio Gel Eyeliner in Blackest Black: I have never been a fan of liquid eyeliners. I noticed most liquid eyeliners are shiny. I tend to be drawn to matte eyeliner looks. For that reason, I tend to go for pencils and cream/gel eyeliners. I reviewed this so please check that out. ;) I think this is a worthwhile product that goes on smooth and looks good. The only issue I have is I'm impatient to wait for it to dry and then curl my lashes. For that reason, I tend to curl my lashes before I use the eyeliner.

Revlon Lipstick in Demure: I received this from My Fit Beauty. To be honest if I saw this at the drugstore, I would have pass this up. It's one of those colors that doesn't draw my attention. It's nothing special but once on, it's hot! It's a gorgeous nude color. My makeup buddy says, "It's your lip color but better!" I convinced her to get one and she loves it too! :) I will eventually get to the swatches of this lipstick. I'm just behind in blogging *sigh*.

March Finished Products
Olay Daily Facials Intensives Smooth Skin Exfoliating Scrub: What a name! It's long. :P I received this sample some time ago and finally finished the product. It's nothing special. It's a cream-like product with blue beads. When I exfoliated my face, the blue beads didn't do anything that I noticed. If you're looking for a light exfoliating product, this might be. I kind of want more where the beads will do it's work.

Would I repurchase: No, it's too light for me. I need a heavier exfoliating product.

L'oreal Collage Micro-Pulse Eye: I received this from BzzAgent to review and I reviewed it. When I first used this, I didn't think it was that bad. The pulse sensation was kind of fun but I could see some tugging involved. I actually stopped using the pulse sensation because I thought it was bad for the light, sensitive skin under my eyes. :/ From the beginning to the end, I didn't notice any changes on my skin. It looked the same and the wrinkles didn't go away.

Would I repurchase: No, it didn't work for me.

Dr. Hunter's Rosewater & Glycerine Hand Creme: I wrote a review for this hand cream, and I strongly recommend it. I still think it's a great hand cream and sad to finish it. This hand cream is definitely for people with dry skin that cracks easily. My hand only tends to crack during the winter weather. Thankfully, it's spring time and I don't have to apply much lotion on my hands. I still try to apply every night, but I have to admit I'm not that good. :X

Would I repurchase: Yes, when winter comes around.

Caress Whipped Souffle White Peach Cream Ultra Silkening Body Wash: I don't know why Caress makes cream like body washes. They just seem a little too thick for my taste. I tend to like liquid-y body washes because they're easier to come out of the bottle. Thankfully, it was a sample because I didn't like it much. It smelled nice, peach flavor. :)

Would I repurchase: No, I like liquid type of body washes.

Victoria's Secret Pink Energizing Body Lotion With Natural Citrus & Mint: I received a sample of this and thought it smelled more towards citrus than mint. It's a good thing because I tend to like fruity flavors than minty. It's not the most hydrating lotion. I think it's more on the light side and good towards the spring/summer weather.

Would I repurchase: No, because it's discontinued.

The Body Shop Body Butter in Mango: It smelled good! I noticed some mango flavor products either is a hit or miss when it comes to smell. They can smell bad or really smell like mango like this product. I love my Body Butter from The Body Shop. I even reviewed this product. They melt like butter but can be on the thick side. I tend to only use this during the winter weather. It really helps my skin feels hydrated.

Would I repurchase: Yes, I already have two back ups. :D

I hope everyone ordered their Target bag! I finally received mine, and thought I would just post it since so many people have posted theirs. :D
Here are my samples and Target coupon book. I gave the Neutrogena lip balm to my father. He told me he has lip balms that will last him 10 years and to stop giving him some. :X I gave him all my white or non-colored lip balms. The best thing out of this is the makeup bag from Sonia Kashuk. It's really adorable and blue! ;)

Picture Canvas

I got contacted by Easy Canvas Prints. For the people who don't know Easy Canvas Prints, they make canvases out of pictures. It's actually a pretty genius idea! It would make such great gifts.

When the PR gave me the opportunity to print one picture into a canvas, I didn't think twice. I really wanted to do something sentimental. I actually had to think about this. At first, I was thinking my baby picture but how sentimental is that. :/ Then *boom* I realized I can do my parents' wedding picture. It would mean a lot to my father since I lost my mother. It's they're only wedding picture. Our trip from Argentina to California, the men on the boat stole boxes of pictures. They probably thought it was full of expensive things. To me, it is expensive since it was our only pictures before we arrived to US. :( Thankfully, my grandmother from Korea sent the only pictures she had of us. One baby picture of myself, as well as, one wedding picture of my parents. I also realized it would mean a lot in the future. My future children will know how their grandparents looked when they were young! :)
When the canvas arrived, I had my dad open the box. He loved it and I'm so glad!!! :)

The website is really easy to use. They only have 4 steps.
Steps:
1. Choose your canvas size.
2. Upload your photo.
3. Select canvas borders.
4. Apply image effect.

I choose 20" X 16" with 1.5" Gallery Wrap. The 1.5" is the sides of the picture canvas. You can choose different types of border from none to mirror. I used the mirror image.

To be honest, I wasn't too sure how the canvas would turn out. It's much better than I expected! I definitely recommend this for anyone interested. It would make great gifts.

Thank you Easy Canvas Prints!!! :)

The cupcakes are from A Sweet Design Custom Cake Studio. They make cakes for all occasions from wedding to baby showers. You really should check out the website. The cakes are amazing looking!

This was my father's favorite. He tends to love anything strawberry.
